Peabody, Massachusetts, has taken first place in Realtor.com’s ranking of the hottest US ZIP codes, driven by intense online interest and unusually fast home sales.
The 01960 area recorded a median listing price of $600,000. Homes spent about 20 days on the market in the first half of 2026, compared with roughly 57 days nationwide, and seven in ten listing viewers came from nearby Boston.
The ranking combines the number of internet views each property receives with the time a listing remains available before a sale. Montclair, New Jersey, placed second, followed by Sewell, New Jersey, and Fairport, New York.
Peabody’s pace contrasts with a slower national market shaped by high prices and mortgage rates. Realtor.com said buyers in the strongest ZIP codes were arriving with larger down payments and stronger credit profiles than the national norm.
